All of Roman’s projects shown below were built using WordPress CMS. Why would someone torture themselves with finding a hosting service and navigating that platform when other website builders do it all for you? Because Roman never backs down from a challenge. If he can struggle through learning to use WordPress just to say he did it, imagine the lengths he’ll go to see next year’s COMM 339 students succeed.

Kent's Camera (LPO)

Unique features:

  • Page uses Go Pro’s official colour palette to match the product’s branding
  • “Buy Now” button takes users to a mock checkout page that features additional items as an upsell
  • Included an AI chat bot to answer customer inquiries

Intact Climate Centre (LPO)

The Intact Climate Centre for Climate Adaptation is based out of the University of Waterloo. The project focuses on helping homeowners, governments, and businesses mitigate the impacts of climate change. Roman’s group chose this organization for their second LP to be able to work with an environmentally-focused organization. Java Joyride (Blog)

Roman’s blog aimed to bridge the gap between people who drink coffee for utility and coffee “snobs”, with a specific focus on catering their content and writing style to university students.

Roman was team lead on the website design/management and paid advertising.

Paid Campaign (Blog)

Roman’s paid campaign leveraged the detailed targeting features of Meta advertising to be able to carefully cater ad copy to his team’s target audience. His team decided to promote their engagement multiplier, the Kingston Coffee Shop Personality Quiz (also put together by Roman) in order to increase engagement with their blog and collect contacts for their email list.

Target Audience: Queen’s students and Kingstonians interested in coffee (each audience received altered versions of the same ad for more personalization)

A/B Test: Ad experiment focused on results driven by bidding strategies optimizing for clicks (maximize link clicks) and post-click actions (maximize landing page views)

Results:

  • 187 Email Contacts
  • $0.43 per email contact
  • 5.12% CTR
  • 55% Quiz Completion Rate

I wanted to personally thank you for making it this far. Whether I get nominated to be a TA for this course next year or not, COMM 339 has been my favourite course at Queen’s, and I would retake it in a heartbeat if Queen’s academic policies let me do it just for kicks. In all seriousness, this is the only course I could see myself being a TA for. There hasn’t been a course where I’ve been passionate enough to see just how well I can do in it, and COMM 339 challenged me in ways I’ve never experienced. Thanks for making this course as great of an experience as it has been.
